safe oral sex

I have a question: is everyone out there practicing safe sex with oral sex? In responding to another post, I realized that I am probably not safe in this area. I almost never use condoms for safe sex, and I actually think I only know one guy who usually does. I just wondered if other people are being safer than my circle of friends?

I've never been with anyone who even thought of using condoms during oral sex.

I'm not saying it's not a good idea--just that I've never personally encountered anyone subscribing to it.

I've never used a condom during oral sex or had anyone put one on me, but I did have a few tricks who obviously were afraid to do much more than touch my dick with their tongue.

I draw the line at anal sex and would never fuck anyone or let myself be fucked without a condom.

I also admit that I generally scope out a trick for herpes or any kind of swellings or lesions or whatever before I get too close. I guess in that situation I would become a convert to using condoms for oral sex in a big hurry.

That's a good point. I always take a look at what I'm getting close to before I get close to it. That's probably a good general rule to follow. Although I wonder how I would actually react if I got down there and saw signs of an STD. Talk about awkward! Luckily, it's never actually happened.

I agree with always using condoms for anal sex. I just wondered if people were staying on top of the oral sex safety. But it looks like I'm about as safe as everyone else in this area.

I don?t use condoms for oral sex.
I don?t take pre cum or cum directly into my mouth and always have condoms at the ready.
I don?t brush my teeth before or after oral, but use a mouthwash instead.

sounds like good tips... but how can u avoid precum if the guy naturally "lubricates" a lot? i think it's kinda difficult to be sure that your not swallowing any precum.
in any case, i think the rest of what u say sounds like good advice. oral sex without condom remains unsafe sex though... i have to admit that sometimes i feel bad thinking about doing oral sex cuz i know tht it's potentially dangerous. i guess the best option is to have a steady partner :-)

Manhunter i am surprised i did not have a clue you could catch STD's from giving oral sex. I now might take a bit of care. thanx for letting me know this. but now i think of it does make some sense.

I had thought of myself as very safe because I never had anal sex with any one before they were tested for any STD's. But i have sucked a few people and thats all i think i might get myself tested. I think this is making me a bit paranoid. Anyway I am of to the clinic. see ya ltr.

I suppose that if you wanted to be really safe, and you weren't sure about the status of your guy, then yes, you probably should use a condom with oral sex. But honestly, I think that rarely happens.

i dont use condoms in oral sex either and i love swallowing cum. How dangerous is that?
